Ensure Quality: Become a Peer Reviewer

The ASNT Publications Department is seeking volunteer subject matter experts to assist staff and various Society committees in the peer review of its educational publications and related content.

ASNT membership, committee involvement, or ASNT certification, while encouraged, is not required to participate in the peer review process.

Expectations for Peer Reviewers

As a peer reviewer, you would use your expertise to

  • Review text and figures for accuracy
  • Review text for completeness
  • Identify areas for improving content
  • Take quizzes and tests to ensure answers are correct and questions are worded appropriately
  • Provide corrections and recommendations to the Publications Department

Earning Certification Points

Becoming a peer reviewer is an excellent way to contribute to the NDT profession while at the same time earning points toward the renewal of your ASNT certification.

Current ACCP Level II, ACCP Professional Level III, and ASNT NDT Level III certification holders can earn recertification credits for their publications activities as listed below. Participants are responsible for documenting their activity.

Author or revise one full Study Guide, Q&A Book, PTP book, etc. 3 points
Full publication review as assigned by Publications Department 3 points
Partial publication review as assigned by Publications Department 1 point

Please go to  https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/urnd and create an account. During that process be sure to include keywords which indicate your areas of expertise. This will enable the Associate Technical Editors to identify you as a possible reviewer for RNDE.
