ASNT… Creating a Safer World! ™

Join a Committee!

The councils and committees that make up the structure of ASNT are where work is done, and decisions are made to guide the direction of the Society. Committees serve the Society by guiding publications, certification, research, engineering, and sections. Explore the councils and their subcommittees below. Once you submit your application to join a committee, it will be reviewed by the Chair of that committee.

Awards and Honors Council

The Awards and Honors Council is responsible for overseeing the ASNT awards program activities. This includes but is not limited to approving additions or revisions to the existing awards program and bestow recognition to deserving members on behalf of the Board of Directors. This council is appointed by the board only.

Council for Women in NDT

The Council for Women in NDT exists to help women enter and succeed in the field of nondestructive testing. It does so by advocating for women, connecting women to the field, the society, the society’s leadership, and to other women in the field, developing relevant informational and learning content for ASNT’s events and publications, facilitating the affiliation and engagement of women members in ASNT at all levels.

Engineering Council

The Engineering Council is responsible for administering NDT engineering affairs of the Society and for the formulation of broad plans and programs designed to enhance the engineering activities of the Society.

Research Council

The Research Council develops, encourages, and promotes communication among researchers in nondestructive evaluation through meetings, programs, and publication.

Section Operations Council

The purpose of the Section Operations Council (SOC) is to service the needs of ASNT’s members through its local Sections.  SOC supports membership activities for ASNT that stimulate growth and strengthen the Society.

Standards Council

The Standards Council provides the means, methods and actions necessary for the development and maintenance of ASNT Standards, and other documents for the Qualification and Certification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel.

Technical and Education Council

The Technical and Education Council (T&E) is responsible for enabling the Society to serve the needs of its members, academic institutions, industry, and government.
