ASNT is bringing the 26th ASNT Research Symposium to Jacksonville, Florida on 13 – 16 March 2017. This annual spring gathering of leading NDE academians and innovators is themed: “Advancing NDE Technologies, Research, and Engineering in a Changing World.” Topical tracks over the four day event explore a multitude of applications and implications as innovative NDE research and development technical papers are presented.
Opening the symposium is the featured short course is “NDE Engineering: Method Selection” instructed by Dr. John C. Duke from Virginia Tech. Anyone who is faced with identifying and developing nondestructive evaluation methods for new, novel applications, or is interested in learning an engineering approach should plan attend this educational session.
CSX Corporation VP Mechanical, Gerhard Williams III, will deliver the keynote address. Titled “Predictive Analytics in NDE of Railroads”, Williams’ discussion will impart relevant modeling and concepts for all in attendance.
ASNT is proud to again host over 100 area high school students for the ASNT Day of STEM. This initiative is designed to provide:
- grade appropriate content about NDT methods and technologies;
- why students should consider NDT as a career choice;
- and, most importantly, an appreciation for and recognition of how NDT keeps their world safe.
It is through the generous time and talents of ASNT volunteers that this outreach program is able to flourish and grow. Every symposium attendee that the students see will help reinforce that NDT/NDE is a vital field that they should learn more about.
Exhibitors will be on hand to share their technologies and services to meet the dynamic needs of a changing world. The welcome reception provides a setting for symposium attendees and exhibitors to share needs, solutions, and network. The exhibit hall opens Monday evening for the welcome reception to provide the ideal setting for attendees and exhibitors to share needs, solutions, and network over a light meal.
