Establishing a Micro Radiation Protection Zone

Radiographic testing (RT) is commonly used in the nondestructive testing industry. The method is irreplaceable due to its wide application scope. However, RT is radioactive, which can affect the health of persons in the work areas. A protection zone is strictly required when RT is operated in conjunction with other tasks. This paper proposes a micro radiation protection tool, which will ensure a peripheral dose of no more than 2.5 μSv/h out of 15 m using a radiation source of Selenium-75 (Se75), so that the RT radiation zone can be controlled in a smaller range near the testing object.
