Volumetric Inspection of Wind Turbine Blades using a Microwave Interferometric Technique

The MW technique has proven advantageous over conventional techniques due to the ease of data collection, the ability to limit the inspection depth, and the detection of discontinuities in various orientations that are captured in an individual scan. This paper details those advantages by describing the field implemented first-article inspection on a wind turbine blade and the resultant findings.
