Surface and Subsurface Crack Analysis in Carbon Steel Samples using Magnetic Particle Testing and Liquid Penetrant Testing
This feature paper deals with two of these more common NDT methods: PT and MT. It involves case studies to understand the application of these methods, the procedure followed while testing components using these techniques, and their efficacy in evaluation of different types of discontinuities. This paper features three case studies, wherein the PT and MT methods were used to evaluate the known existing discontinuities in the samples. The results obtained using these two methods are presented and analyzed.
