Automated systems for inspection have been available to the industry for several years, from C-Scan systems with burning paper back in the 80s to fully automated systems capable of performing scanning with high precision now. In many cases these systems can be considered robotic as they are controlled by computer software, have electro-mechanical parts and perform operations with little human intervention; but our vision of robotic-based inspection systems goes beyond those characteristics.
