Challenges to Nondestructive Testing Reliability
The world of quantitative NDT and requirements for reliable detection of smaller discontinuities poses a significant challenge. What is missing is NDT engineering discipline, data/database, and practices to develop and quantify capabilities to detect smaller discontinuities at lower risk. Interdisciplinary support is needed to reduce gaps and to support structure integrity in the public domain.
