Ultraviolet-A Lamp Technologies for Nondestructive Testing: The Challenges and a Path Forward
This paper explores and compares the typical emission characteristics of Hg, MGD and UVA LED lamps, evaluates the emission characteristics that result in veiling glare, and considers projected beam profiles that support an effective visual search pattern. Finally, the functional and performance characteristics that should be controlled for UVA lamps used in aerospace inspection applications are proposed.
