For decades, LDAs (Linear Detector Arrays) have been the overwhelming choice for luggage, cargo and vehicle X-Ray imaging in air transportation and other security applications. LDAs, with a proven performance history, are also ideal choices for many industrial digital radiography applications. This paper will compare LDA Digital Radiography techniques with other available detector options and will describe the working principles of a typical industrial x-ray imaging System. To illustrate, examples of applications in the Renewable Energy industry (e.g. raw materials inspection) in the Mining industry (e.g. Conveyor belt Inspection) and in the oil & gas industry (e.g. pipeline inspection) will be presented along with other examples as time allows.
