2D and 3D Imaging of Concrete and Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite Wrapped Cylindrical Columns using Ground Penetrating Radar

This paper discusses the use of 3D GPR imaging for cylindrical concrete columns with or without FRP wraps and compares the effectiveness of 2D and 3D GPR images for displaying subsurface features such as debonds and metallic rebars in cylindrical columns. As shown from the results in this paper, the 3D cylindrical imaging technique greatly enhances the visualization of GPR data for concrete cylindrical columns. This paper also presents the cross-sectional GPR scans for a cylindrical column in polar coordinates.
