This paper reviews the results of a comprehensive radiographic investigation in the 10–50 kV energy range and provides insight into X-ray film performance, image quality data, the selection of a radiolucent film holder for use at 10 kV, and the effect of low kilovoltage air absorption in the inverse square law.
