CIVA software is a multiple-expertise simulation platform for nondestructive testing (NDT); one unique feature of CIVA is its ultrasound phased array simulation capability, which can help to optimize experimental setup parameters and to interpret complex inspection results. In our study, various types of ultrasound phased arrays were configured and simulated; ultrasound propagation and its interaction with various types of defects were simulated and studied, especially in composite cylindrical structures.
