In a comprehensive study, a set of measurements with different ultrasonic equipment was carried out to examine composite specimens, specimens with idealized cracks (notches) and specimens with real cracks. Significant differences between open and repaired cracks could be observed for injections with epoxy and cement. Also, in a number of cases, the results indicated incompletely filled cracks. These indications could be verified by ground-truth data.
