Sample dose is perhaps an even more complex question in industrial applications than in many clinical situations given the wide range of materials present. The dose rates generated by two microfocus systems, one based on a directional-type X-ray tube and the other on a transmission tube, have been measured using an ionization chamber meter under various tube operating conditions.
