Coaxial Vision Monitoring of Laser/GMAW Hybrid Welding Process

In this work, a coaxial vision system for hybrid laser/gas metal arc welding (HLAW) process monitoring was integrated from a relatively inexpensive industrial vision system and a PC-based GMAW arc data process monitoring system to monitor the process quality in real-time. Coaxial vision images and image processing results demonstrate the effectiveness of the system for HLAW process monitoring.
