Tensile tests were conducted on five specimens of aluminum and steel while bending test was conducted on eight wood samples. The results of the test were used to construct stress-strain, stress-cumulative count and stress-cumulative absolute energy plots. AE signals verse load diagrams follow patterns similar to the stress-strain diagram, which provides insight as to the level of load and the strain the material has been subjected to. The AE signals and their history indicate if the material has yielded and what strain/load level the specimen was loaded to.
