This paper discusses how permanently installed UT sensors offers the users the ability to perform UT measurements on demand, reduces the overall cost for multiple UT inspections, reduces the EHS risk of performing inspections and the associated pre and post inspection set up costs. The utilization of permanently installed UT sensors improves the reliability of the UT thickness data and provides the ability to incorporate a completely automated system to monitor the critical asset integrity from any on-shore location.
