Although multi-core processors and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) continue to advance in their processing capabilities, taking advantage of either technology is typically very difficult for someone who is not an expert in the technology. This paper will describe the benefits of FPGA vs. multi-core CPU processing and practical ways for the non-expert to easily take advantage of both technologies together in a system.
