Measuring the Paramagnetic Properties of Nonmagnetic Drill Collars

Due to the need for high accuracy in these directional measurements, the nonmagnetic characteristics of the drill collar must be guaranteed over its entire service. Therefore, testing is performed on both newly manufactured collars and collars having many hours of service. This paper explores these testing techniques in more detail.
