Verifying what may be considered rejectable indications should be part of any thorough inspection. Often during the inspection process, whether it is radiography, eddy current, ultrasonic, or any other nondestructive testing discipline, there is a need to confirm the presence or absence of a defect which is detrimental to the operation of a specific component or part. This paper discusses the need to improve the NDT process to improve the ability to accurately identify indications as being either acceptable or rejectable.
