The nondestructive laboratory at California State University, Long Beach was developed through the ASNT Faculty Grant and support from local industries. One important aspect of quality control is nondestructive testing (NDT), in which discontinuities in a manufactured part are detected without adversely affecting the functionality of the part. There are many different NDT procedures, and students should be knowledgeable about these procedures and the associated equipment.
