This article discusses the development and use of manual eddy current weld testing as a high quality and cost saving NDT method to supplement load and visual testing of nuclear fuel transfer casks in accordance with ANSI N14.6. It also discusses the histories of magnetic particle and eddy current weld testing leading up to this application.
