Deterioration and Contamination of Developers Used in Liquid Penetrant Testing

The last step in making a liquid penetrant test is to apply the developer. The developer does exactly what its name suggests—it blots any penetrant that is entrapped in discontinuities to the surface so that they can be more easily seen. Because this step is very important, it is mandatory that the developer be properly used and maintained.
